Audrey and the "Giant Orange Lie"

According to the US Census Bureau, in a highly contested 2020 election cycle, over 154 million Americans took to the polls.

The race between Donald Trump and Joe Biden was close. According to Ballotpedia,

Biden had earned over 81.2 million votes to Trump's 74.2 million. In the end, Biden won the election with 306 electoral votes, beating Trump by 74 votes.

(Ballotpedia, 2020)

In a dark moment of American Democracy, Trump and the Republican Party refused (and continue) to accept the results of the 2020 election. Trump supporters across the country protested, demanding Secretaries of State recount all of the votes. As Trump grew more and more desperate to remain in power, so did his supporters.

According to the Brookings Institute, the GOP launched 60+ court cases challenging the election results in 63 separate state court filings to overturn individual state election results. Team Trump only won a minor case of all the legal challenges.

The Republican Party of New Mexico quickly joined Trump in lockstep claiming the November 2020 election was rigged, and Audrey Trujillo is one of the "Big Lie" conspiracy's biggest supporters.

Like everything Audrey does, she recycles failed projects and borrows from other things. Readers should be familiar with Audrey's schlacking in 2020; she was beaten by over 1000 votes in her run for State House. Not to deter her "ambitions," Audrey recycled her FaceBook page as a state house candidate and decided to run for New Mexico Secretary of State.

Interestingly, Audrey deleted everything from her, then state house, now Secretary of State, campaign page between January 6, 2001, and February 17, 2021. Audrey deleted all her content on her personal page before January 26, 2021.

The question must be asked: Why did Audrey delete her FaceBook posts? She became a QAnon follower, as well as other far-right-wing extremist organizations.

Among the few national endorsements Audrey has received, one of the earliest was the America First Secretary of State Coalition (AFSOS).

(AFSOS Candidates)

The America First, the Trumpian branch of the Republican Party, and the AFSOS share in the belief that the 2020 election was rigged and stolen by democrats with the help of Dominion Voting machines. According to Politifact and the AFSOS website, among aggressive voter reforms, the group's objective is to "aggressively clean voter rolls, return to paper ballots, eliminate mail-in voting, and counter and reverse election fraud.

(AFSOS)

While Audrey eventually admitted (not really) that Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election, she continues to claim voter fraud is an issue and, somehow, thousands of fake ballots were stuffed into ballot drop boxes across the country.

If you're asking yourself what 7ballot.com is, you're not alone.

7ballot.com is an offshoot of The American Project, a "nonprofit" organization led by Patrick Byrne (formerly of Overstoc.com) and Professor Dean "Pete" Peterson of Pepperdine University. Backed by disgraced felon Lt. Gen. Michael Flinn  (ret.) The America Project claims to stand for:

The 7Ballot.com website aims to reach possible election participants who may have seen or allegedly stuffed ballot boxes using ballot harvesting. As of this writing, not one single allegation of ballot-stuffing/harvesting has been proven true.

By the end of the Republican Party of New Mexico's "Pre-Primary" Primary, Audrey had grown even more extreme and began following defunct NMSU professor and election denier David Clements.

According to the Daily Beast, David Clements and his group New Mexico Audit Force, in conjunction with EchoMail, were awarded a $49,750 contract to conduct a "door-to-door canvas" of Otero Country voters to determine how individuals voted in 2020.

On March 9, 2022, a TicToc user posted a now-viral video of her interaction with Clements' group.

By March 10, the Otero County Commission voted not to define the relationship between the county and Clements' group.

Eventually, the video made its way to Congress. On March 17, 2022, Representatives Carolyn Maloney and Jamie Raskin announced a congressional investigation into New Mexico Audit Force, EchoMail, and the contract awarded to the groups.

In the end, The Alamogordo Daily News writes that EchoMail reported they found no irregularities and fraud in the Otero County 2020 election.

But that wasn't enough for Audrey. She is still shilling for David Clements.
